Haha, Cherlene here. Still remember me? (: I know I haven't been coming back, but I'm REALLY busy! REALLY REALLY miss you people man. :( As some of you may know, I'm in Meridian JC now and no longer in the choral scene...Haha, yeah. We all have to make choices someday. I'm aspiring to become a journalist someday, so I'm now in College Publications writing for the school magazine. (: I still love choral pieces and I still appreciate them and I still sing, in my own way, like singing children songs with little children on Saturdays. :D Sometimes, I really do envy my JC choir friends a lot when I see their scores and think about the familiar things I used to do in choir. Not getting into Temasek was actually quite a sad thing for me at first, but I really do not regret going MJC now haha :D College life is VIBRANT, just ask Ying Ting. (: There's a ton of student-initiated stuffs and you are just like a busy bumble bee in JC. I totally beg to differ that MJC is a mugger JC, because we do have our share of fun stuffs. It's just that we have tons of homework...But seriously, you do not want to screw up your "A"s. (: CCA is a BIG THING, it's a SECOND FULL-TIME COMMITMENT, other than your studies. For me, College Publications (CP), is my second thing and I have to devote a lot of time to it too, it's NOT SLACK AT ALL. Choir, for Ying Ting, I believe is just as a huge commitment as CP is to me. So yeah, CCA is quite a big thing.
In JC CCAs, it's hard to be the best. One may think that he's a good singer but upon entering a JC choir, one may find many people who are tons better. It's normal...So just take it in and strive to give your 150% or even more every CCA session. (:
Oh yeah, haha, just for those people who want to take Arts in JC, Literature is a must but it is uber FUN. (: In this post, I'm going to share with you girls a classical piece from a Lit text that I'm learning now. It's a tragic love story with supernatural elements. I'm currently taking GLEM= Geog, Lit, Econs and Math. Much better than Triple Science. Best subject combination for me ever, though Econs is hard to grasp in J1. We'll all get it somehow, someday, with enough hard work, that is. "Wuthering Heights" it is. By songbird Hayley Westenra. HAHAHA you'll NEVER sing this in choir, but I'm just sharing some music with you people. Don't laugh at the start and stop the music ok! :D The chorus is nice. You can find out more about the story "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte online, if you're interested.
I know that you guys are leaving this Friday, so just give it your all and make us proud! :D
Love you altos.(:
XOXO Cherlene (:
P.S.: Do you all want a change of blogskin? Tag! (:
