Dear Altos,
This is my first time posting here on this blog. (: Firstly, I want to say that you all did well for the past few events that we had for you, be it AVA, the performance for the Chinese visitors, or the NDP. The choir did well, you all did well. I'm so proud of every single one of you (:
Well, I will be gone for a short period of time, till the 28th of August. I'll be at home practising hard hard hard for my piano exams. Wish me luck :D Meanwhile, you all must be obedient and listen to Ying Ting okay? Listen to her instructions and you will be fine, trust me.
There are some problems we have to face as a section, but these problems are not unsolveable and definitely they will only make us stronger. They say that tough times make or break a section, but I know it will not break us, because I can sense the bond that Alto has within herself.
We are all mature young women and definitely are critical people. I would like to apologise to you all if me and Ying Ting have been very hard on you. The training is tough but the fruits of your labour will be sweet. Remember, if our singing is fine, Mr Toh will not have to spend as much time fine-tuning us, and this principle goes for all the other sections. As long as we play our part in music-making, the progress will be fast and steady.
Altos, I have absolute faith in you all. Like what our Ex-SL, Cheryl, said, the jam is me and Ying Ting, the bread is you people. But this sandwich will not taste good without either of us. The bread will be plain without the jam, the jam will taste plain without the bread. It's the fusion of the two flavours that create the distinctive tast of the sandwich. How are you going to call peabut butter sandwich without the bread and just the peanut butter? Of course you will say it's peanut butter. And how are you going to ay it's peanut butter sandwich with only the bread? Of course you will say it's just bread slices. Okay I know it may sound crappy, but you get the theory right?
There are many other things I would like to share with you. But I will do that in time to come. Let's do things step-by-step now. Do not ever, ever bow your heads down to hard times. They are supposed to make you a stronger and better person. (:
Always do your best. Have faith. We know Alto can do it. (:
With Love,
Cherlene. <3
